ACHERONTIA
Unlike a lot of other people I know, I’ve always loved moths. To me, they’re like the butterflies of the night, equally beautiful, but rather inconspicuous in appearance. So of course I was totally excited when I found out about Acherontia Atropos, also known as the “Death’s-head hawkmoth”. It is not only the largest moth in the British Isles, but also seems to carry the pattern of a human skull on its back.
